Have y'all heard about Cheetahmen: The Creation?
« on: November 12, 2011, 07:05:59 PM »
The main site is here, but you can find some background information here. Basically, some guy has a proto of Action 52 with an early version of Cheetahmen, and he's trying to sell reproductions of it (the Cheetahmen game, not the entire proto) at an insane price. It's complete rubbish, trying to get that kind of money for a few levels of gameplay, but it seemed like something you guys might find interesting.

MAYBE NOT RUBBISH; MAYBE SOMETHING THAT MANY OTHERS ARE IN FACT INTERESTED IN. TO EACH HIS OWN.

THIS IS A SPECIALTY COLLECTOR ITEM RELEASED ENTIRELY FOR COLLECTORS AND LIKE CHEETAHMEN II WILL LIKELY GROW IN VALUE. THE 1,500 CM II's THAT WERE DISCOVERED IN A FLORIDA WAREHOUSE IN 1996 SELL FOR $1,500 EACH TODAY AND IT'S NOT BECAUSE THEIR FOUR LEVELS OF PLAY WILL SET THE GAMING WORLD ON FIRE.  IT ALL HAS TO DO WITH THE STORY AND THEIR SCARCITY. CHEETAHMEN: THE CREATION IS THE PREQUEL TO THE ORIGINAL CM GAME AND IS ENTIRELY A NEW AND DIFFERENT GAME FROM EITHER CM I OR CM II.

UNLIKE INEXPENSIVE REPRO PROJECTS, SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS HAS BEEN INVESTED IN PRODUCING A HIGH QUALITY COLLECTOR "PACKAGE", IN LIMITED NUMBERS THAT WILL GROW IN VALUE OVER TIME.  BESIDES THE UNIQUE GAME AND BOX, YOU GET AN AWESOME T-SHIRT, A COLLECTOR CD, POSTER, CLASSIC COMIC BOOK AND A SECOND GAME AND BOX TO PLAY /SAVE/SELL.

LOOK AGAIN www.cheetahmengames.com with even more games coming in 2012

Okay, I'll concede that I was rather harsh, but your site doesn't even make it clear what the game is. You imply that it's an entirely new game when, based on the articles at videogamemuseum.com it sounds like it's just a piece of the Action 52 prototype. I suppose some collectors won't care, but the lack of clarity is frustrating nonetheless.

On a lighter note, and I mean no offense by this, I find it an appropriate parallel that you're already planning future endeavors with the Cheetahmen before this game is even out the door. Sounds a little like what Active Enterprises did 20 years ago.

You are "sorta" correct.  The game IS one of the games on that ACTION 52 Prototype, but it is an entirely DIFFERENT Cheetahmen game from the production Cheetahmen I version.

Based on interviews with the newly found actual Cheetahmen Game Designer ( see Nintendo Age E-Zine latest issue), this was the actual game developed for the original release of Action 52, but was changed at the last minute as Vince Perri decided he was going to start a game FRANCHISE to make CHEETAHMEN compete with TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, hence the last minute development comic book, action figures, cartoon show, animatronic CHEETAHMEN costume, ETC,ETC. and of course, later "almost release" of CHEETAHMEN II .

Like Vince Perri, I am totally shameless when it comes to my belief that a game this good/bad- (YOU decide) belongs in the arena of RETRO COLLECTING.  Anything that brings fun and attention to RETRO GAMING is worth our support, therefore my undying promotion and willingness to trudge forward...

I ALSO SELL THIS GAME WITH AN IRONCLAD GUARANTEE THAT IT IS AT LEAST AS GOOD AS CHEETAHMEN I AND CHEETAHMEN II

Thanks for the comments,
Greg
